We initially chose the MAC300 hardlid for its 300Kg carrying capacity and it has exceeded our expectations. It has given us the convenience of being able to deliver pallets of Pearson implements without having to tow a trailer. It’s lockable and has proven to be very water tight, so it is great for keeping things secure and dry too. People comment on it all the time when I’m out and about and I’m always more than happy to recommend people give one a try. They look great too! Thanks MAC Utes!
I looked around at a few hard lids and settled on the MAC300 due to the load capacity, tie down points and security. The team at Mac Ute Accessories were great to deal with and took the time to get it right for me, even increasing the pressure in the struts so my lid would comfortably hold up 4 bike racks but still work well without them fitted. It made a real difference to deal with a local team. The lid has proven to be better than I thought and has made it super convenient to take our mountain bikes wherever we go. I’ve already sent some friends to MAC Utes and they are delighted too.
After much research and thought I decided to get my Ranger Raptor ute lid from Luke and the team at MAC Utes. As soon as I met and spoke with Luke I knew I had made the right decision! Their products are built to a rigorous standard and Luke’s passion for his business and products is infectious. My lid is perfect for all our day-to-day needs (mainly surfing and keeping things secure and safe) and its awesome to know that I can quickly add a simple roof rack onto the lid to carry bikes/snowboards/SUPs/foilboards when needed. Also, the possibility of adding after sale bits and pieces (like the fork mounted bike racks) means you have loads of flexibility should your hobbies/requirements change over time. My lid has had lots of admiring looks and comments from friends and strangers alike! I wholeheartedly recommend you get one!
From the moment I contacted MAC Utes I received great service. Kelly responded to my emails promptly and gave me all the information I needed to make my decision. Once I purchased the lid the great service continued. I had a bit of a tight time frame as I was wanting to use the lid and racks on an upcoming holiday. However the cross-bars I ordered were out of stock - Kelly swung into action and organised with the installer (Fully Equipped) to substitute the bars with some from their stock. Everything was delivered and installed two days before I headed away. The MAC Utes lid is brilliant quality and has exceeded my expectations. The inbuilt tracks mean the racks sit down nice and low and the whole set-up looks great. I highly recommend MAC Utes products and service. And, if you're looking for an installer in the Wellington region, Fully Equipped is brilliant too.
After doing a bit of research and comparing different brands on quality and price, I decided to order the MAC300 and had it installed on my hilux. I have had no regrets. I do not only think MAC Utes have the best looking lids on the market, but they are also the strongest and well thought out. The integrated tie down points are solid and I have strapped numerous heavy items to this lid without any problems. A friendly team with excellent customer service. I would recommend MAC Utes to anyone thinking of installing a hardlid to their ute.
